Good morning! Nice, i like this automatic posting thing, yes i do.

Pardon me, just being a geek. So I’ve set the next 9 pages to appear daily, after that I’ll be posting pages every Wednesday.
-
Thought maybe i’d use the blog to do a little extras like cometary. I’m not going to promise too much, keeping you’re expectations low! :) – Read on if you’d like some background on this image.

Had the idea for this opening sequence watching documentaries stoned and hold up in my studio, trying to not have to deal with a train wreck of a relationship and get some work done. Not a healthy dynamic no, but that’s what was going on. Drew this page first, a year after, living on my own and much happier. The rest got done a few months later while i was finishing up work on Therefore Repent.

I was struck that night in my studio by the idea of life surviving on the edge of things much of the time. Fresh footage i’d just watched of our sun through 3D glasses had enriched my understanding of it as an explosion, suspended at the moment of collapse by a momentary bounty of finite fuels.

We feel a warm caress because we live a comfortable average of 92.58 million miles from it. It’s still, almost too close.
-
We live in a skin of fluids around the 3rd rock, laughably thin. And we look at tube worms as daring for rooting barnacle like around volcanic black smokers, living on sulphur inches from 350 C mineral-rich hot water vents.
-
Life is always on an edge of some kind. On the edge of transforming, or surviving. Not trying to be affectedly profound, but it grabs you now and then.
-
This story is about that a lot of the time, so i thought it would make a good semi abstract sequence to open it with, help set the mood.
-
I scribbled it down hoping it would seem as good later on. Unlike most ideas it survived. :)

Awesome spread!
Hi J.J., thanks! :)
